Completed Project Description

In cooperation with LuxDev Project SXV/015, Gearsup Solutions has successfully provided IATA/UFTAA training to the teachers of the high school Center of Competence in Prizren, Kosovo. Four teachers completed the internationally recognized courses Foundation in Travel and Tourism and Managing the Travel Business.

Project KSV/015 Support to Vocational Education and Training (VET) Reform in Kosovo supported the Kosovar Ministry of Education, Science and Technology (MEST) to establish seven so-called Centres of Competence (CoC) for VET in different regions of Kosovo.  MEST aims to address the deficient infrastructure and to reform the system towards demand-driven VET. This implies alignment of VET provision with occupational profiles and skills and competences needed in the labor market, and linking VET to the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) and the established National Qualification Authority (NQA) for standards, curricula and certification.

Being the only IATA Authorized Training Center within the region of Western Balkans and having previous worked for NQF, LuxDev entrusted Gearsup Solutions the provision of the training to the teachers of COC Prizren in charge of training students in travel and tourism. Further, we provided technical assistance to the CoC Prizren in capacity of tourism experts as a follow up activity.
