As part of this project Gearsup Solutions conducted a customer survey consisting of two types:
Main goal of these surveys were to provide knowledge on the individuals who have or still haven’t visited Kosovo’s touristic destinations.
We surveyed in total 149 respondents and used the judgment sampling method to select respondents. A random sampling method was not feasible to be used due to the nature of the targeted segments.
Gearsup Solutions was particularly interested to survey foreign tourists, Kosovo’s diaspora, international expats that have lived or still live in Kosovo, as well as regional and domestic tourists. Hence, conducting a randomization of such a diverse and specific segment was not feasible.
Since we needed prior knowledge of the audience that were to be surveyed and in order to select a more representative sample of the targeted segments, we used a non-probability sampling technique such as expert knowledge or Judgmental Sampling. Using judgmental sampling we as researcher selected samples based on their knowledge in the field and their professional judgment capacity. We collected data from our own staff and the staff of our travel agency network.
The outcome and this survey was later used to determine the coaching needs for Inbound Tour Operators.
